Adam (company) draft
[edit]Can you please let me know what specifically I did wrong in the draft so I can write it properly. Thank you so much. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:54, 13 March 2025 (UTC) Bibiana T (talk) 11:29, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Pls return a new page to draft
[edit]The page (Geelong City Football Club) was deleted minutes after I crafted up the page. When creating a page from a red wiki link i did not have a' save as a draft' option so published the first version. How do I improve a page to demonstrate notability when you've deleted it? Can you reinstate this to a draft and provide further info about its deficiencies? Harry Alexander T (talk) 01:38, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation
[edit]I don't understand why this artist's new album should be considered any less independently notable than the previous one which has an article? It's been reviewed in several of the national newspapers in Britain as per the citations I added. The first attempt was moved to draft because I'd not put any sources in, but when I added them it's been deleted for having "no proper references or evidence of independent notability" - I accept I didn't format the references properly, but the guidance I followed clearly stated I didn't have to ("Alternatively, just write your sources into the article, or in the reference section, any way you can – as long as the sources are there, someone more experienced will be able to fix the formatting.") There's likely to be more media coverage over the next few days if what's already been published isn't sufficient, but if you're certain it needs deleting as it currently stands, can you at least explain why the sources I added weren't "proper", and what would sufficiently prove notability? Morganabbou Draft
[edit]Dear @Jimfbleak I got your message telling me that my Draft:Clément-Claude Abbou had been deleted. Can you copy my content to my sandbox as I don’t have a copy of it?
Also, this page is meant to show the work of a public figure, can you please review the text as it is full of references and has a very neutral and objective tone as it is only based on published facts

Park Yuha
[edit]Hi Jim, I think that I made the appropriate changes. "The prosecution of Park Yuha drew strong criticism... not previously mentioned Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:23, 6 February 2025 (UTC)"
I think that the other talk page was deleted. Thank you, George Mews (talk) 08:34, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Block evasion
[edit]Hi Jimfbleak. I saw that you blocked Toslim Asad Mahi a few months ago. Std.T.A.Mahi just recreated Draft:Toslim Asad Mahi; this is probably the same person, evading the block. jlwoodwa (talk) 16:06, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Matt Lodder
[edit]Hello Jimfbleak:, mr lodder will send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org shortly with the release of the text. https://www.essex.ac.uk/people/LODDE23007/Matt-Lodder Addendum: I would like to download the old text so that I can rebuild the article. A short-term release, possibly in my user namespace, would be helpful. Restoring and moving it to my user namespace would also be an option. Regards Doc.Heintz (talk) 12:22, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Doc.Heintz his presumably self-written university profile isn't remotely an independent third-party source. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:03, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
- Could you restore the original text of the article in my user namespace so I can try to insert reputable evidence. --Doc.Heintz (talk) 17:09, 18 March 2025 (UTC)

Nancy Ford draft
[edit]Hello @Jimfbleak,
Thank you for your previous guidance on my article about the composer Nancy Ford. The draft is in my sandbox and I wondered if you might take a look at it to see if it meets standards. I appreciate your help in the matter.
Sincerely,

Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP)
[edit]Yes, hello. and thank you for all your work. I'm wondering why you deleted the page that users were trying to create on the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP)? I cannot see how the page which was intended to provide encyclopedic information on the Centre which is part of Kingston University has been judged as self-promotion. The Centre is not that different in its work from a number of similar institutions (Institute_of_Art_and_Ideas and the The New School) that do have wikipedia pages. many thanks, poetdreams99 and lamduende Poetsdream99 (talk) Poetsdream99 (talk) 11:40, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- also we do not work for this institution and are not being paid for this work. thanks Poetsdream99 (talk) 11:59, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Poetsdream99, thanks for message. I guess you are referring to Draft:The Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, since the page name you gave was corrected (removing acronym) and moved to draft space. You can see my comments here. Looking at your contributions, the first paragraph of "More" will apply to you too, if you work for the university. Also note that you hold an account as an individual, whereas users were trying to create implies joint action.
- The fact that other articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or should be deleted as well. See What about article x?. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:05, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
IOC 15.1: move requests
[edit]Hi Jim, Version 15.1 of the IOC spreadsheet was released at the end of Feb. Most of the changes are to align the IOC with the two other world major lists: Clements/eBird and BirdLife/IUCN.
I've been plodding through the updates and making changes to the articles. Some of the lumps reverse splits previously made by the IOC and not adopted by the other lists.
Some updates involve a change of English name. Please could you move these pages for me - I cannot do so, usually because a move is blocked by a re-direct. The moves will probably be welcomed by other editors as they bring the Wikipedia names into line with Clements/eBird. I've already edited some of the articles.
- Pacific long-tailed cuckoo -> Long-tailed koel
- Black-throated whipbird -> Western whipbird
- Otago shag -> Stewart Island shag
- Southern rockhopper penguin -> Western rockhopper penguin
- Asian crimson-winged finch -> Crimson-winged finch
I can supply more background for each move is you wish. I still have to work through the splits - and will probably need more help.
Many thanks. - Aa77zz (talk) 14:48, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
